“The IDA Repertory Companies are pre-professional performance companies that provide serious and dedicated dancers with a true professional dance company experience.”
The Repertory Companies rehearse weekly with professional choreographers to build a body of work that they perform throughout the community. In addition to community shows and charitable shows/fundraisers, the Repertory Companies do professional performances including the Koresh Artists Showcases, Inhale Performance Series, and Philly shows in venues such as the Painted Bride, the Arts Bank, and Conwell Dance Theater. Repertory dancers are proficient in all techniques and styles.
Their training includes daily technique classes plus master classes with the top dance companies including Alvin Ailey, Philadanco and BalletX. To expand their knowledge and training, the repertory dancers also take private and open classes in New York City and see the world’s greatest dance companies perform including Paul Taylor, Piloblous, Parsons, and more. Dancers are able to start training and performing with the Junior 2 Repertory Company as young as 5th grade and then move on to Junior Rep and then Senior Rep. Repertory Company dancers often go on to be dance majors and dance minors in college, as well as dance with college dance companies and dance teams.
